Welcome to Seylo. By using the service, you agree to these terms. They’re written plainly so you don’t need a lawyer to read them.
At a glance
- You must be 13 or older. One person, one account. Don’t impersonate anyone.
- No harassment, threats, CSAM, violence, malware, or spam. We close accounts for these without warning.
- Anyone you message can report what you sent — including in encrypted chats.
- Seylo is provided “as is,” under active development. Messages can be delayed or lost.
- You can delete your account any time, with a 7-day grace period.
The basics
This is a messaging service. You can chat with people you connect with, send files, make calls, and form groups. We provide the service “as is” — it’s still under active development.
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. Together they govern your use of Seylo.
Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your password safe. Pick something you don’t use anywhere else. If someone else uses your account, that’s on you to deal with — let us know if it happens. You can review and revoke active sessions from Settings.
One person, one account. Don’t impersonate other people or organizations, or use someone else’s identity.
Certain usernames are reserved — for example, names that suggest you are Seylo staff, support, or an administrator. We may reclaim a username used to impersonate a person, brand, or role.
You must be at least 13 years old to use this service. Where your country sets a higher minimum age for consent to data processing, you must meet that age instead.
What you can’t do
Don’t use this service to:
- Threaten, harass, or harm other people
- Share child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — we will report this to authorities
- Plan or coordinate violence
- Spread malware or attempt to break the service
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam)
- Infringe other people’s copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property
- Sell illegal goods or services
- Evade a ban, or automate account creation or messaging at scale
If you do any of this, we will close your account without warning. Our Community Guidelines describe these rules in more detail.
Reporting and moderation
We may, but are not required to, remove content or close accounts that violate these terms. Decisions are at our discretion. If you think we got it wrong, contact us.
We don’t proactively review messages. We respond when something is reported.
What we can’t promise
We’re not perfect:
- Messages may be delayed, lost, or seen by the wrong people due to bugs.
- The service may be unavailable for maintenance or due to outages.
- Group messages are not end-to-end encrypted; assume an administrator could read them.
- Metadata — who you talk to, when, and how often — is never end-to-end encrypted.
- We can’t recover lost end-to-end encryption keys. If you lose access to your device with encryption enabled, your encrypted history is gone.
We make no warranties about availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the service.
Content you send
You keep ownership of everything you send. By sending it through our service, you give us a limited license to store, transmit, and display it to the people you sent it to. We do not use your content for anything else — not advertising, not training AI models.
If you send something that violates someone else’s rights and they tell us, we may remove it.
Ending your account
You can stop using the service at any time. You can delete your account yourself from Settings; deletion is scheduled 7 days out, and signing back in during that window cancels it. After that, your account and messages are permanently removed. You can also export a copy of your data before you go.
We can stop providing the service to you at any time, especially if you violate these terms.
If your account is closed, your data is handled per the Privacy Policy. Reports made about you may be retained after your account is gone, so we can act on repeat behaviour.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
If you are a consumer in a country whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally, nothing here removes that right.
We prefer to handle problems by email. Try that first before anything else.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. For material changes, we’ll notify you in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
